Tommy Moose helps comfort kids in traumatic situations

SARANAC LAKE – Tommy Moose, a 12-inch-tall, plush animal, has positively impacted thousands of children’s lives throughout the North American continent, thanks to the men and women of the Loyal Order of the Moose.

The Loyal Order of the Moose No. 457 and The Women of the Moose Chapter No. 1909 in Saranac?Lake presented the Saranac Lake Police Department and the Saranac Lake Volunteer Ambulance Service with stuffed animals on Oct. 17.

More than 120,000 Tommy Moose stuffed animals have been delivered to police, fire, hospital and other emergency workers who use them in the course of their jobs when interacting with children.

When a child experiences a traumatic event – domestic violence, a natural disaster or an accident – emergency service workers across the continent use this unique program as it marks its seventh year of helping children in need.

Moose International’s Tommy Moose Program provides the Tommy dolls at no cost.
