Adirondack Wind Ensemble performs Saturday
LAKE PLACID – The Adirondack Wind Ensemble, under the direction of Daniel Gordon, will perform a program of chamber music for winds entitled “Classical and Neo-Classical” at 4 p.m. Saturday at the Lake Placid Center for the Arts.
The classical work is Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s “Serenade No. 11,” K. 375; the neo-classical work is Igor Stravinsky’s “Octet.”
The Adirondack Wind Ensemble is a professional musical ensemble of wind and percussion instruments. Its performers consist primarily of music educators from around the North Country. The group is dedicated to bringing the highest quality wind and percussion music to the Adirondack region.
These concerts are made possible, in part, with funds from the Decentralization Program, a re-grant program of the New York State Council on the Arts, with support of Governor Andrew Cuomo and the New York State Legislature and administered by the North Country Cultural Center for the Arts, and with support from the SUNY Plattsburgh Student Association through the Campus Arts Council and the Music Department, a College Auxiliary Services grant, the SUNY Plattsburgh President’s Office, Alumni Office, and Fitness Center, and Kneucraft Fine Jewelry and Design.
