Collections top $103,000
LAKE PLACID – The Salvation Army Christmas Kettle Program has now raised in excess of $103,000 in Lake Placid since the effort was started in 1993.
A thank you is due to all volunteers who each year step forward to ring the bell. This includes numerous families and individuals who each year give of their time. A special thanks to the Boy Scouts, the gang from the Lake Placid Pub and Brewery, the High School Boys Hockey Team, the Builder’s Club and the Rotary Club of Lake Placid.
This year, $6,831.00 was collected at Price Chopper and Eastern Mountain Sports.
Ninety percent of the money raised is available to meet community needs to include food, clothing, emergency gas and vehicle repairs, and children school supplies.
