ADK hosts two days of winter activities
The Adirondack Mountain Club’s Winter Family Weekend is an excellent opportunity to get outside with the kids and enjoy the beauty and wonder of an Adirondack winter.
The event will include two days, Saturday and Sunday, of winter exploration for both adults and children at ADK’s Heart Lake Program Center in the heart of the Adirondack High Peaks. Activities, to be held between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. each day, will include animal tracking, sledding, snow art, games, a campfire and more.
Cost is $10 a day for adults and $5 a day for children, and includes instruction from ADK’s education staff and use of snowshoes. Preregistration is required. To sign up, call 518-523-3441.
The Heart Lake Program Center, home of the Adirondak Loj and the High Peaks Information Center, is the base for ADK’s education programs, guided hikes and outdoor workshops. The Heart Lake property is about 8 miles south of Lake Placid, at the end of Adirondack Loj Road.
