LPCA’s Juried Art Show awards announced

LAKE PLACID – The Lake Placid Center for the Arts recently hosted the annual North Country High School Juried Art Show. Students from 15 schools entered more than 200 pieces for consideration in this juried exhibition.

The jurors for this year’s High School show were Susan Camp and Brooke Noble and awards were underwritten by Nancie Battaglia Photography.

Participating schools for the 2013 exhibition included: Brushton Moira Central; Elizabethtown-Lewis Central; Franklin Academy; Galway Central; Keene Central; Lake Placid Middle/High; Long Lake Central; Malone Middle; North Country School; Northwood; Saranac High; Saranac Lake High; Seton Catholic; Westport Central; and Willsboro Central.

High School Awards

(Grades 10 to 12)

First Place – “Candy” Mimi Christman, Saranac High School, Grade 12; Second Place – “Corgi” Marita Bray, Franklin Academy High School, Grade 12; Third Place – “Distance” Lilly Kelly, Willsboro Central School, Grade 11.

High School Honorable Mentions: “Cabin in the Woods” Cecilia Cosmen, Northwood School, Grade 11; “Deer in the Woods” Breana Nason, Franklin Academy High School, Grade 12; “Animal Eyes” Adela Bukva Lake Placid High School, Grade 12; “Self Portrait” Naomi Peduzzi, Keene Central School, Grade 10; “Childhood” Zo Tyler, Saranac Lake High School, Grade 12; “Watering Can” Jeffrey Bruha, Keene Central School, Grade 12.

Middle School Awards
