Many thanks due

To the editor:

As I get ready to depart on my fundraising bike ride, I wanted to thank all those who have made and are continuing to make it a success. Besides myself, I know I am speaking for all at the Tri-Lakes Humane Society in thanking all at the Adirondack Daily Enterprise, which have run ads and covered this event without compensation. I especially want to thank Publisher Catherine Moore, Managing Editor Peter Crowley and proud new papa, reporter Mike Lynch. With so many publications going purely digital, it is more important than ever to support our local “gem” hometown newspaper. Whether your tastes prefer The Inside Dope (my favorite) or Actively Adirondack, there is always something with a local flair to be had within its pages. Please read it and enjoy it; use it or lose it.

I also want to thank all those who have pledged/donated (businesses as well as individuals) as this drive continues over the summer months that I will be gone. Your generosity is greatly appreciated, and once the sprinkler system is functional, you can feel justifiably proud that you have made the shelter building a much safer haven for the animals and those dedicated staff who toil there 365 days a year.

Lastly I want to thank my wife of 46 years, Martha, who is my “anchor” on this ride. I “owe” her for putting up with me.

See you when the leaves change colors.
