Annual Lake Placid Village Clean-Up is April 20

LAKE PLACID – The Lake Placid Village Clean-Up, sponsored by the Lake Placid Garden Club, is an annual event that has been going strong for more than 50 years. Residents old and young, local service organizations and businesses gather together for a day to clean our streets and take good care of the village that we live in.

The 2013 Village Clean-Up is scheduled for Saturday, April 20 (rain date: April 27).

Registration is at the Olympic Oval Skating Building from 9 to 10 a.m. At registration, participants will sign up to join or lead a group, be assigned an area, pick up bags, lunch tickets and recycling information.

All participants should wear gloves.

A pizza and sandwich snack for volunteers will be offered following the clean-up at the Peacock Village Beach.

Pre-registration for neighborhoods and specific streets can be done by contacting the organizers before April 18. In case of inclement weather, tune to local radio WSLP FM 93.3 for updates.
