Bacque to earn Doctor of Veterinary Medicine

The president and faculty of Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine recently announced that Soleil Marie Bacque as a candidate for the degree of Doctor of Veterinary Medicine at the commencement exercises to be held June 10, 2013 at the Lincoln Center in New York City.

Soleil is the daughter of Jack and Elizabeth Bacque of Loon Lake. She is a 2005 Seton Catholic High School graduate and in 2009 earned a BA in Biology from St. Anslems College in Manchester, NH.

Soleil studied veterinary medicine at the St.Kitts campus of Ross University and concluded her education with a year of clinical studies and practice at North Carolina State University in Raleigh. She completed an externship at The Humane Alliance in Ashville, N.C., which concentrates on spaying and neutering animals. She also worked with Dr. Alison Flanagan at the Lake Placid Veterinary Hospital providing small animal medicine. Soleil has worked under Dr. Hannah McCormick of the Saranac Veterinary Clinic.

Soleil was awarded her New York State Veterinary license and admission to the American Medical Veterinary Association. She accepted a position as a veterinarian working with small animals at Crossroads Veterinary Clinic in Cortland.
