Tupper Lake hires part-time police officer

TUPPER LAKE – The village board hired a new part-time police officer Tuesday night with a familiar name.

They hired Jordan Nason, son of Saranac Lake police Chief Bruce Nason, after interviewing him in a closed session following Tuesday’s special board meeting.

Jordan Nason is now in police school.

He can work up to 20 hours a week while he’s part time, and Tupper Lake police Chief Eric Proulx said he will likely work all those 20 hours each week for a while since he has an officer on extended sick leave and others going on summer vacations.
