Chamber seeks nominations for Business of the Year and Don Duso Citizen of the Year
SARANAC LAKE – In planning for its 92nd annual dinner, the Saranac Lake Area Chamber of Commerce is requesting nominations from its members for the Business of the Year and the Don Duso Citizen of the Year.
The awards, which will be presented at the 2013 Annual Dinner on June 6 will go to the Chamber business member and community member who have shown significant contribution to the community of Saranac Lake and its surrounding areas.
Business of the Year past recipients include the Community Store, Adirondack Regional Airport, Mountain Gift & Powder, Adirondack Health, Rice Furniture, and St. Joseph’s Rehabilitation Center.
Last year, the Citizen of the Year award was given to Gail Brill for organizing numerous community initiatives, projects and events including the Farm 2 Fork Festival, the Saranac Lake Talent Show, the Adirondack Green Circle, the Saranac Lake Community Store and the AuSable Valley Grange, which organizes the farmers market on summer Saturdays in Riverside Park.
“Several businesses and citizens positively impact our community throughout the year and are worthy of this honor; we are searching for the business/citizen who exemplifies the most community spirit,” said Saranac Lake Area Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Katy Van Anden.
