Rethink ER closure
To the editor:
I worked at Placid Memorial Hospital for 16 years. We had the greatest staff and worked together as a family. When I left just after the merger, I could see the writing on the wall.
I was born and raised in Lake Placid, and it is sad to see what is happening to the old Placid Memorial Hospital. I loved my job as an X-ray technologist. It seems that the powers that be have no regard for Lake Placid or the Lake Placid facility. Personally I feel that the two boards, back in 1990-1991, sold the PMH down the river. Loyalty was swept under the carpet, and the merger only made Adirondack Medical Center larger without any thought for those who gave many years of service through the Placid Memorial Hospital family to our hometown families.
Rethink what you are about to do, and if you can do this with a good conscience, I feel for you.
