Reynolds, Keyes capture Great Adirondack Trail Run trophies
KEENE VALLEY – Tim Reynolds and Sarah Keyes were crowned as champions Saturday in the 11.5-mile Great Adirondack Trail Run.
Reynolds, 26, was the top overall finisher with a time of 1 hour, 37 minutes, 36 seconds to better the time of runner-up Nils Koons, who completed the rigorous course in 1:40:14. Matthew Harrison of Lake Placid was third in 1:43:05.
Keyes, a 28-year-old from Saranac Lake, crossed the finish line in 2:05:42, to earn the women’s crown. Erin McDougall was second in 2:08:30 and Courtney Giles finished third in 2:08:40.
The 11.5-mile run traversed several area mountains and included 2,900 feet of elevation gain and 3,100 feet of elevation loss. Seventy six runners completed the course.
Scott Mooney, 14, was the winner of the 3.2-mile run in 25:12, followed by 19-year-old Heather Mooney who finished second overall in 26:27.
Ninety runners completed the shorter course. The event, in its ninth year, was a benefit for the Ausable and Boquet River Associations.
