Missoula Children’s Theatre auditions

LAKE PLACID – The Lake Placid Center for the Arts has announced the return of Missoula Children’s Theatre free summer residency program and workshops.

On July 15 at 9:30 a.m., open auditions will be held for “Robinson Crusoe.”

LPCA?invites all children that have completed kindergarten up to grade 12 to audition.

Missoula Children’s Theatre will cast 50 to 60 area students to join in an intensive week-long production process.

Auditions will start promptly at 9:30 a.m., doors will open at 9 a.m. Due to the nature of these auditions, children arriving late will not be able to participate.

The auditions will last approximately two hours, and children must be present for the full audition process. Casting and rehearsals will begin immediately.

The only requirements for the auditions are comfortable clothes and a smile. Rehearsals will last for approximately four hours a day, depending on the child’s role.

This program is being offered free to all involved and will culminate in two performances on Saturday, July 20 at Noon and 3 p.m.

Among the roles to be cast are: Robinson Crusoe (Robby), Wilson, Leonard the Leopard. Friday’s Family: Saturday, Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday. Octet: Oscar the Octopus, Spunky the Monkey, Wild Boar Willy, Marty the Turtle, Myrtle the Turtle, Glinda the Gull, Polly the Parrot, Stella the Stork. Goats: Billy, Bill, Willy, Will, Wilma. The Very Hairy Frowny-Face Tribe and the Hula-Dancing Chameleons.

No advance preparation is necessary. Assistant Directors will also be cast to aid in rehearsals throughout the week and to take on essential backstage responsibilities.
