Piano concert at Will Rogers

SARANAC LAKE – Louise Dionne will perform a piano concert at 7:30 p.m. Saturday at Saranac Village at Will Rogers, featuring arrangements by Carl Czerny, Andre Mathieu, Franz Liszt and Frederic Chopin. The featured work is Mathieu’s “Quebec Concerto.”

Dionne recorded “Floating on Lake Champlain” in 2011 in Miami at The Hit Factory at Criteria Studios. The CD includes works by Bach, Scarlatti, Mozart, Beethoven, Schubert, Chopin and Dionne’s 2007 composition that bears the name of the CD.

Dionne has performed in this area for many years and across the U.S. and Canada. She has taught in the Plattsburgh vicinity privately and given classes, has been a part of the music faculty at Plattsburgh State University for more than 10 years and has maintained her private piano studio on Margaret Street, Plattsburgh, for 23 years (dionnepianostudio.com). She received her Master of Music degree from Ithaca College in 1988 and her Bachelor of Arts degree with a major in music and two minors in French and Spanish in 1985.

Dionne shares a home with her Cuban-born husband Ernesto Rodriguez and their son Camilo, a budding 2-year old musician.
