NYSEF jumpers soar in Utah
PARK CITY, Utah – New York Ski Educational Foundation athletes had strong showings last week at the large hill national championships.
Lake Placid High School student Miles Lussi took first place in the junior men’s class Aug. 3, collecting 242.5 total points to beat out second-place Ben Loomis, who had 226 points. Lussi was recently named to the United States ski jumping development team.
Nina Lussi placed fifth in a strong field on the K90 hill with 213.5 points. Jessica Jerome won the class with 235.5 points, followed by National Sports Academy graduate Lindsey Van (225.5 points) and Sarah Hendrickson (219).
Nina Lussi also took fifth in the K120 national championships with 218 points.
In the K120 men’s competition, former NYSEF members Nick Alexander took third with 242.1 points and Chris Lamb was fourth with 218.1 points.
Peter Frenette of Saranac Lake placed 11th in the K120 men’s senior competition with 187.1 points.
