Waterfowl identification course offered

RAY BROOK – A free waterfowl education and identification certification course will be offered on Thursday, Sept. 5 at 7 p.m. in the Conference Room of the state Department of Environmental Conservation headquarters here.

This course is designed for both hunters and non-hunters interested in identifying migrating species of ducks, geese and other waterfowl in the air and on the water. Course certification allows hunters to qualify for state and federal wildlife preserve access. All interested parties are welcome.

Dr. Michael P.M. Pond of Mountain Medical Services Urgent Care will instruct the course.
