Saranac Lake clinic to open with event
SARANAC LAKE – The public is cordially invited to attend a Community Health Fair and ribbon-cutting ceremony to celebrate the opening of the new Saranac Lake Health Center, a member of Adirondack Health.
The health center is located on the second floor of Adirondack Health’s medical office building on 285 Old Lake Colby Road, above the Wound Care and Hyperbaric Treatment Center. The celebration takes place from 3 to 6 p.m. on Wednesday and will feature activities for the entire family.
There will be a Teddy Bear Clinic for children who would like their favorite stuffed animal to receive a check-up from pediatrician Dr. Darci Beiras. The Adirondack Health Mobile Dental Clinic will be on site, along with local ambulance and emergency medical crews to provide demonstrations. Information sessions will include blood pressure screening, diabetic and dietary education, pain management, physical rehabilitation, lactation education, electronic health information and wound care.
In addition to the activities, community members will have the chance to meet the staff members who provide care at Adirondack Health’s community health centers. In addition to Saranac Lake, Adirondack Health has health centers in Keene, Lake Placid and Tupper Lake.
At 5:30 p.m. there will be a ribbon-cutting ceremony with remarks from Adirondack Health staff, board members and local elected officials. Light refreshments will be served throughout the event.
There is no need to RSVP; this event is free and open to the public. On-site parking is available.
