2013 KB Golf Tournament

To the editor:

Sunday, Aug. 18, marked the sixth annual Kevin Broderick, KB, Memorial Golf Tournament at Craig Wood Golf Course. Eighty-eight golfers, 22 teams, ranging from 13 to 85 years of age, played golf in Kevin’s memory. Kevin, a teacher and goalie coach at National Sports Academy, passed away in May 2008 after three courageous years battling Ewing’s sarcoma. In addition to the KBFEHL title winners, tournament organizers Seann Cassidy and Keith Clark want to congratulate the following winners:

Overall team: Dave Beeman, Larry Zygo, Milt Bickle and Brian McManius

Closest to the pin: Mary Carmody and Bill Smith

Longest drive: Sheila Preston and Brian McManius.

Many local businesses and schools donated items to be raffled. Money raised, totaling $1,579, will be distributed in Kevin’s name as educational scholarships.
