Nashett begins pharmacy residency
ALBANY – Rebecca M. Nashett graduated Summa Cum Laude from the Albany College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences Doctor of Pharmacy program on May 18.
Nashett received the American Chemical Society Award for the highest academic performance in chemical sciences. She wore cords representing her roles in the Phi Lambda Sigma Pharmacy Leadership Society, the Rho Chi Academic Honors Society, and American Pharmacists’ Association.
Nashett conceptualized, co-organized, and led the first ACPHS student-driven medical mission to bring basic health services to remote parts of inland Belize. She furthered her international education conducting field research on medicinal plants and coordinating clinics in the Peruvian Amazon, and working with the Glens Falls Medical Mission Foundation in Guatemala. She became a member of the American College of Clinical Pharmacy, Colleges Against Cancer, and the Academy of Managed Care Pharmacy.
Nashett captained and led the ACPHS cross-country running team to several victories including their 2009 premiere at the Hudson Valley Women’s Athletic Conference Championship. She also captained the combined ACPHS and Albany Law women’s rugby team, was president of the Multi-Cultural Club, and worked as a resident assistant. She participated in the ACPHS Outdoor Club, Ski Club and Frisbee Club.
Nashett is now furthering her education and training as a pharmacy resident at Brigham and Women’s Hospital, a Harvard affiliate.
She is the daughter of Larry and Cynthia Nashett, and granddaughter of Christa and the late Frank Beline of Tupper Lake.
