Boil-water order lifted over weekend

TUPPER LAKE – The boil water order issued here last week was lifted Saturday by the state Health Department.

The order was issued Wednesday after a chlorine pump at the Lake Simond treatment plant malfunctioned early that morning. It applied to all users of the village water system.

The village of Tupper Lake was notified at 12:35 p.m. Saturday that the order had been rescinded.

“The boil water order is no longer necessary based on satisfactory residuals in the system and satisfactory bacteriological sample results taken on August 29 and 30,” the village said in a statement. “Water users may resume normal water usage with no restrictions.”
