‘Original’ Lake Placid Half Marathon set for Saturday

LAKE PLACID – The 43rd running of the Lake Placid/North Elba Half Marathon will take place Saturday at 9 a.m.

Known as the “Original” Lake Placid half marathon, the race has expanded this year to include a 10-kilometer option, and will benefit the Lake Placid/Wilmington Connecting Youth and Communities. The race donated more than $1,500 to the Lake Placid Youth Athletic Association last year.

Both the half marathon and 10k race will start at the James C. Sheffield Speed Skating Oval and finish at the North Elba Show Grounds. More than 210 competitors took part in last year’s race.
