Golfing for a healthy cause
Adirondack Health hosted two benefit tournaments this summer that raised more than $33,000 in support of the hospital’s programs and services. The tournaments each had 50 four-person teams competing.
The first was held at the Lake Placid Club Resort’s Mountain Course in July. First place in Flight 1 went to Team Morgan with Terry, Kelly, Bryan and John Morgan shooting a score of 60.
Team Palladino won the second flight with a 63. Team members were John Palladino, Curtis Jennings, Mark Burton and Dave O’Neil.
Flight 3 went to Team Moccia, with team members Kristin Meissner, Jen Patnode, Kathy Nixon and Rhett Colby shooting a 68.
Sue Devlin of Lake Placid and Ray Planty of Tupper Lake took home the longest drive honors.
Action shifted to Tupper Lake Country Club in August and Team Romano earned the top prize after carding a score of 60. The team was made up of Jeff Romano, Dave Bell, Jimmy Leach and Clarence Bell.
Team Medical Management Resources, which included Paul Johnson, Dan Mansfield, Dillon Fuller and Chuck Robertson, carded a 63 to take Flight 2, while the Pickering/LaMere Team of Linda and Neil Pickering and Michelle and Tom LaMere, all of Tupper Lake, won Flight 3 with a 71.
A new women’s flight was added to this tournament, with Team Savard taking first place after carding a 70. The team was made up of Sue Corneau, Mary Shaheen, Pam Savard and Anne Maltais.
Michelle Hill of Adirondack Surgical Group and Chuck Robertson of Adirondack Health earned the longest drive honors.
Both tournaments included skins competitions, closest to the pin prizes, 50/50 raffles, putting contests for cash, new golf club giveaways and donated rounds of golf from area courses.
