Chefs and Farmers thanks
To the editor:
There is something to be said about living in a small town and the opportunities we boast. Sept. 8, the Saranac Lake Area Chamber of Commerce coordinated the third annual Chefs and Farmers event, following in the footsteps of the Adirondack Green Circle. Working hand in hand with the Green Circle’s Gail Brill and Susan Haun made the leadership transition of the event seamless and allowed the community to continue to enjoy such a magnificent event. Bringing our restaurant chefs and farmers together encourages them to work together to provide sustainable menus year round, and inviting the public for a tasting extravaganza to sample the creations of this year’s 12 participating restaurants reminds our community of our many delicious dining options.
The generous support from our chefs, farmers, volunteers and community businesses/members was overwhelming. Special thanks to Harrietstown Town Hall staff, the Dust Bunnies, the Lake Placid Lodge, Blue Moon Cafe, Lake Flour Bakery, Lakeview Deli, Nonna Fina, the Airport Cafe, Whiteface Lodge, the Cowboy, Freestyle Cuisine, Generations, Cake Placid, Larkin’s Junction Depot, Jill Brockway, Dick and Mary George, Dave Zwierankin, Jake Stanbro, Tim Hesseltine, Corey Hurwitch, Beth Van Anden, Kathy Ford, Kathy Norris, Jean Champlain, Craig Stevens, Anna Lapizak, Darlene Chiosa, Peter Roy, Coakley High Peaks Ace Hardware, Faith Barney, Hannah Gorgas, Blue Line Brewery, Swedish Hill and, of course, all of our farmers.
Stayed tuned for more information regarding the fourth annual Chefs and Farmers event on our website, www.saranaclake.com.
