Earlier bar closing time OK for Warren County
GLENS FALLS (AP) – State regulators have given their approval to an earlier closing time for bars in an upstate New York county that’s home to a popular Adirondack tourist destination.
The Post-Star of Glens Falls reports that the state Liquor Authority on Wednesday unanimously approved Warren County’s proposal to change “last call” from 4 a.m. to 3 a.m.
SLA officials say the earlier closing time should be in effect this weekend throughout the county, which includes the city of Glens Falls and the nearby village of Lake George, a popular summertime tourist spot.
The change was proposed by Glens Falls Mayor Jack Diamond after several violent incidents in his city’s bar district last winter.
