‘Pics in the Sticks’ thanks
To the editor:
I would like to thank all the people that made this year’s first “Pics in the Sticks” event a success.
First of all, the awesome talent of our local wildlife photographers who displayed their amazing photographs: Jack LaDuke, Dave Martin, Deborah Miner, Deb and Kevin MacKenzie, and Brenda Rose Dadds-Woodward
Sarah from the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation for setting up a great display of bear tracking, facts, prevention and safety in the backcountry
Kevin “Mudrat” MacKenzie, an avid rock climber, discussed equipment and knowledge of rock climbing.
Keith Kogut, band leader from the Saranac Lake High School, for lending music stands for easels
Chris and Karen Harrington from K&E Enterprises in Saranac Lake for the design and printing of the programs. Thank you both for all your help, from enlargements to laughs.
Last but not least, a special thank-you to Wendy Hall and her volunteers from Adirondack Wildlife Refuge and Rehabilitation Center in Wilmington – truly remarkable people. They displayed numerous owls, red-tailed hawks and osprey. Wendy’s love and dedication to all her rescue animals is a true testament of the human spirit. The refuge is open to the public. Visit them in person, or visit their website at adirondackwildlife.org.
Many thanks to all,
