To the editor:

The WRAP (White Ribbon Against Pornography) campaign will run this year from Oct. 27 to Nov. 3. The purpose is to raise awareness about the dangers of pornography and give people ways to combat it. Obscenity is not protected by the First Amendment. Several laws have been passed to protect citizens, especially children. Here are activities individuals and groups can do during WRAP Week and during the year:

1. Wear a white ribbon. Display white ribbons on coat lapels, doorknobs, trees and antennas.

2. Make complaints to the U.S. attorney general and other officials. If your complaint is about the Internet, report it to Morality in Media in Washington, D.C., 202-393-7295.

3. Complain to businesses that distribute porn.

4. Write letters to the editor. Ask village, county and state legislators to curb sexually oriented businesses.

5. Join Morality in Media.
