‘Arts and Artifacts from My Days in China’

The Saranac?Lake Free Library will welcome the art exhibit, “Arts and Artifacts from my Days in China’ for November.

The exhibit, by Judith Coopy, will open Nov. 4.

Coopy taught in China as an English Language and Culture Expert at Chinese universities in Guangzhou, China, from 1997 to 2009 before retiring to the North Country. Being in China gave her many opportunities to visit different parts of this vast and incredible country, its diverse culture not only among the Han Chinese but also the 55 recognized national minority peoples.

While traveling around in China, she was able to collect a variety of native arts and crafts, and cultural artifacts, and has enjoyed sharing them with many friends. She is now happy to share them with the Tri-Lakes area residents and visitors.

There will be a reception from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday Nov. 9 in the Cantwell Room of the library, at which time, she will be happy to share further information about the exhibit.

The exhibit is free and open to the public.
