Adirondack Health Symposium harnesses the power of hope
We’ve all heard about the power of hope, the science of happiness and why good things happen to good people.
On Wednesday, Nov. 6, Stephen G. Post, Ph.D., teacher, scientific researcher and author, will be the keynote speaker at Adirondack Health’s 2013 Health Symposium. Dr. Post is a best-selling author and has been featured on The Daily Show, 20/20, Nightline and Dr. Oz with his message of “it’s good to be good.”
His work combines kitchen table wisdom with scientific research to prove that givers tend to live happier, healthier and even longer lives. Dr. Post’s contributions to healthcare have been widely acknowledged, and now you can hear his message of how giving is like a one-a-day vitamin for the soul.
This year’s Symposium begins at 5 p.m. Nov. 6 when attendees can enjoy light hors d’oeuvres and cash bar while mingling with various vendors and other exhibits representing health and beauty, local retailers, services and organizations. Dr. Post’s keynote address begins at 7 p.m.
Admission is $20, and the event takes place at the Conference Center at Lake Placid, located in the Olympic Complex on Main Street. Support for the Symposium was made possible by underwriting support from the Adirondack Daily Enterprise, Adirondack Health Foundation, Casella Waste Management, HHA Services and Zone 5.
