Mayor Maroun on the mend
TUPPER LAKE – Village Mayor Paul Maroun has been laid up, but he hasn’t stopped working.
Maroun had cervical spinal alignment surgery at Fletcher Allen Hospital in Burlington on Oct. 30 to correct three herniated disks in his neck. He had surgery on a different set of disks a few years ago.
“People are all worried and calling the village office,” Maroun said. “I’m just a little slow here for a while, but the pain’s almost all gone.”
Maroun will wear a neck brace until he recovers. He said he can’t turn his head so he can’t drive, which means he’ll probably have to do Friday’s Franklin County budget meeting by phone. He said he expects to attend Monday’s village meeting.
“Like always, if people have an issue they can call the office or call me at home,” Maroun said. “I’ll be checking my messages, and I’m doing my job out of the house.”
