Appreciation, joy and sadness
To the editor:
I would like to take this opportunity to thank all of those who voted for me for Franklin County clerk on Nov. 5. I was honored to have the opportunity to run in this election, and although I may have lost, I have rediscovered something much more valuable, the pride of being from Franklin County. I congratulate Kip Cassavaw on winning a hard-fought and spirited campaign where there was mutual respect for each other with a common goal to work for the benefit of the people and community that we are both proud to represent.
I’d like to thank my family, friends and supporters who worked so hard on this race and the individuals who endorsed me and contributed to my campaign. I am truly grateful for their support and trust in me. I especially want to thank my husband Kevin and children Courtney, Nicholas and Jacob for their patience, my sister Cheryl for her unlimited devotion and shoulder, Rolland Thomas for his confidence to nominate me, Mike Maneely for his many hours of work campaigning and the Republican committee members covering all of Franklin County for their endless guidance and support.
The great joy I felt in running in this election is followed by profound sadness as I exit the political scene, both county and town-wide. There is still a lot of work to do, and I look forward to continuing to assist our communities towards improvement in many areas.
