State Theater reopens with digital films tonight
TUPPER LAKE – The State Theater here will celebrate its grand reopening with two movies showings tonight.
The event will be the first time the theater has opened its doors since $35,000 in state grants and $70,000 in donations afforded its conversion of both screens to digital projection and sound, plus 3D in one theater.
“Thor 2: The Dark World” will be shown in 2D at 7 p.m. and in 3D at 9 p.m., and “Gravity” will run in 3D at 7 p.m. and in 2D at 9 p.m. Both movies will run throughout the weekend.
The admission price is $6 for matinees and for kids and seniors, and $7 for adults in the evening. There is a $2 charge for 3D glasses with $1 off that charge for those who keep and reuse their glasses.
Popcorn is free at the grand opening. Attendees are asked to bring their own bowls.
