Joy-ful thanks

To the editor:

The Mirror Lake Inn and Ed and Lisa Weibrecht are now servicing the second generation of children in our region after hosting the 27th annual Joy to the Children Benefit for the Lake Placid Center for the Arts. The Weibrechts’ dedication to exposing all of our children to the arts goes above and beyond any imaginable expectation.

On behalf of all of us involved in the LPCA, we thank them SO much. They have made an incredible impact on our community over the past 27 years. I can think of no other event or activity that has done so much. When you see Ed, Lisa or any of the Mirror Lake Inn staff, tell them how much you appreciate the work they have done.

There are literally hundreds of people who make this event a success by donating, attending and volunteering. We thank all of you for your commitment and support, especially Erin Perkins and Sharon Wood who chair and organize the event.

They say that it takes a community to raise a child, and in the Tri-Lakes, that happens. Arts programs enable our children to grow and experience new things that might otherwise not be available here. We are so fortunate to have the Weibrechts, the LPCA and so many volunteers.

Thank you,

Cathy Johnston
