SLVHA presents slogan/flyer contest

SARANAC LAKE – To celebrate February as Dental Health Month, the Saranac Lake Voluntary Health Association is asking any full-time fifth- grade student that is a year-round resident living within the Saranac Lake Central School District to think of an original dental health slogan and use it in a flyer demonstrating the importance of dental health.

The slogan can cover a variety of topics such as good brushing or flossing habits, healthy food options, self-confidence or other original topics related to dental health. The flyer must include some artwork to support the original slogan. Original artwork is encouraged, but not required. Clip art and Google images are acceptable as long as the artwork is properly credited.

The flyer must include the paragraph: “The Saranac Lake Voluntary Health Association, Inc. is a not-for-profit organization established in 1897, dedicated to improving the health of the people within the Saranac Lake Central School District by providing scholarships for students in the medical, nursing, rehabilitative and allied fields of study as well as grants for adult dental care, healthcare equipment loans, an elementary school dental hygienist and area visiting nurse.”

One overall winner will be awarded a $20 gift certificate to Goody Goody’s Toys and Games in Saranac Lake, and the winning artwork/slogan and flyer will be displayed as the SLVHA Facebook Timeline Photo during Dental Health Month.

All entries must be received by Jan. 24, 2014. Entries can be either turned directly to Suzanne Snizek, Saranac Lake elementary school dental hygienist or mailed to Suzanne Snizek, Petrova Elementary School, 79 Canaras Ave, Saranac Lake, NY 12983.
