Bulldogs overtake Tupper hoops

TUPPER LAKE – Mitch Keniston of Tupper Lake connected for a team-high 21 points but it wasn’t enough as Chateaugay escaped with a 64-61 victory Tuesday night.

The Lumberjacks led 17-12 after the first quarter and 33-32 at halftime. The Bulldogs overtook the lead with a 22-18 third quarter and held on in the fourth.

Chateaugay’s Noah Bowes led all scorers with 23 points, while teammated Jordan Martin hit for 20.

Anson Gagnier added 11 points and Morgan Stevens scored eight for the Lumberjacks.

Tupper Lake returns to action Thursday on the road at Parishville-Hopkinton.


Chateaugay 41, Tupper Lake 10

TUPPER LAKE – Chateaugay raced out to a 17-6 first quarter lead and never looked back on the way to a 41-10 victory over Tupper Lake on Tuesday.

Sidney Kulzer and Katie Zurek had four points apiece to lead the Lumberjacks.

Katie Beach scored 14 points and Danielle Charland hit for 10 to pace the Bulldogs.

Chateaugay outscored the Lumberjacks 24-4 in the second half.
