Trooper faces 2nd rape trial, cleared at 1st

PLATTSBURGH (AP) – A New York state trooper who was previously acquitted of one set of rape charges will stand trial this week on other charges.

A Clinton County Jury in November found trooper Trevor Donah not guilty on all counts relating to claims that he assaulted, unlawfully imprisoned, and attempted to rape his former girlfriend in September 2008.

The 32-year-old Donah was arrested in February after two women said he had attacked them. A third woman later came forward and said he also had attacked her.

Authorities said the alleged crimes occurred between 2008 and 2012 while Donah was off duty and involved women he knew.

Jury selection in the second rape case is scheduled to begin Wednesday.
