Rescue squad purchases new ambulance, offers raffle

SARANAC LAKE – The Saranac Lake Volunteer Rescue Squad recently announced the purchase of a new ambulance that will be used in its transport operations.

The SLVRS transports its neighbors to and from homes, hospitals and other care facilities 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

The squad thanks Nori’s Village Market for its ongoing community spirit by recently giving them a check. Nori’s donated a percentage of its income from one of the Sundays during Winter Carnival to SLVRS.

SLVRS will be selling raffle tickets to help support its commitment of providing care to the community.

Tickets will go on sale soon at Ampersound, Maurice’s Unisex Beauty Salon, Adirondack Daily Enterprise and the rescue squad office downstairs in the Saranac?Lake Volunteer Fire Department building.

Those interested can also buy tickets from squad members and at various events that will be held in and around the community.

Drawings will be held on July 4, and three prizes will be offered

-An Adirondack pack basket, hand-crafted and donated by Anne Macbride

-A kayak package of exceptional origin donated by Steve Doxson, owner, Adirondack Lakes and Trails

-A Kindle Fire HDX for reading, surfing the Web on wi-fi and more.
