Lake Placid ambulance squad hosts annual Ice Out

LAKE PLACID – The Lake Placid Volunteer Ambulance Service recently announced that it will hold the 23rd annual Ice Out Benefit during the month of March.

All proceeds will be put toward demolition of the deteriorating 1976 garage as part of the LPVAS building renovation project.

Tickets are available at Adirondack Awards, Central Garage, Cerruti Family Chiropractic, Contemporary Images, Duncan’s Grill at The Pines, Gold Medal Laundromat, Great Adirondack Steak and Seafood, Lake Placid News, Lamb Lumber, Lisa G’s, ROOST/Lake Placid Convention and Visitors Bureau, NBT Bank, Newman’s News, North Elba Town Hall, New to You, Station Street Liquors, Shipman Youth Center, The Cottage Cafe, The Fallen Arch, UPS Store, Zig Zags Pub, the LPVAS garage at 388 Mill Pond Road and any LPVAS member.

Each ticket gives one the chance to estimate the time and date the ice will go out of Mirror Lake and Lake Placid lake. Ice meisters will be using criteria used for the past 50 years. There will be five winners per lake.
