Thanks for helping Olympic dream be real
To the editor:
When we look back at the last few months and realize all the people who have made Peter’s dreams a reality, the list is vast.
How do you thank the hundreds of people who have said kind words of encouragement? How do you acknowledge all the people who have reached into their pockets and supported Peter financially? How do you recognize all the people who came to the various fundraisers over the last year? How do you go about letting people know about the restaurants and businesses that donated items? How do you let our civic organizations in all three communities – Saranac Lake, Tupper Lake and Lake Placid – know what a wonderful job they do in supporting our local athletes?
We will give it a try here in the Adirondack Daily Enterprise. As the parents and family of an elite athlete, we are overwhelmed by the support of the people of the Tri-Lakes, our neighbors. Yes, we are all neighbors and should be proud of what we, as communities, have ignited in our children. We encourage, we cheer, we wipe tears, we congratulate, we travel untold miles for events, and we support each other. We feel honored to live in such a special place where dreams have become reality for so many of our area children.
And so we want to say THANK YOU for being a part of our journey and coming along on the ride with us.
