Curlers close out regular season

SARANAC LAKE – The Lake Placid Curling Club wrapped up its regular league play last Sunday with four matches at the Saranac Lake Civic Center.

Sunday’s results were: Team McKernan over Team Chapin, Team Friedman over Team Northrup, Team Stearns over Team Porter and Team Steinbrueck over Team Benson.

Team Steinbrueck finished first in the standings, followed by Team Stearns, Team Northrup and Team Benson. Team Kobe was fifth, Team McKernan was sixth, Team Friedman was seventh, Team Chapin was eighth and Team Porter was ninth.

The top four teams will now compete in a round-robin tournament for the Division A championship. The winning team will receive the Betsy Whitefield President’s Bowl for their efforts.

The last five teams will compete in a round-robin tournament for the Division B championship.
