Winter Carnival kingly gratitude
To the editor:
I would like to thank the Women’s Civic Chamber, the Winter Carnival Committee, the IPW 101 and the entire village of Saranac Lake for the honor of serving as king of the 2014 Winter Carnival.
The time flew by so quickly, from the Coronation, the Royalty Reception at the Waterhole, the frying pan toss, the Royalty Dinner at the Red Fox, the Frisbee football game, inner tube, skating, cross-country and snowshoe races, and the Rotary Show and parade. The royal court – Prince Jacob, Princess Brie and Queen Dorothy – made the festivities all the more fun.
We are blessed to live in such a wonderfully unique area and to call Saranac Lake our home. The best part of the Carnival is working alongside my fellow Saranac Lakers. So many people come to our small village to get a feel for what we create for 10 days in February each year. What a fantastic opportunity to show them what Saranac Lake is all about!
I would like to close by saying a heartfelt THANK YOU to all the people that work tirelessly behind the scenes to make Carnival a special time for so many. It has been my honor and privilege to serve as your king!
Le gach dea-mhein (with kindest regards),
