Autopsy confirms crash killed snowboarder
SARANAC LAKE – The autopsy results for a 22-year-old snowboarder who died over the weekend at Whiteface was conducted Monday at Adirondack Medical Center.
Austin P. White of Hemlock died as a result of multiple traumatic injuries, which were determined to be consistent with a snowboarding accident Dr. C. Francis Varga reported to state police.
White was riding down Excelsior trail with a group of snowboarders and skiers, around noon Sunday when he crashed, striking his head on a tree. He was not wearing a helmet at the time of the accident, according to state police. White was a senior at the State University of New York College at Brockport, set to graduate in May.
