Mahogany L. Browne and Jive Poetic at BluSeed

SARANAC LAKE – The Adirondack Center for Writing and BluSeed Studios will welcome Mahogany L. Browne and Jive Poetic to the BluSeed Studios in Saranac Lake at 7 p.m. Saturday, April 5.

A $10 donation is requested.

Mahogany and Jive are renowned performing artists, with a wide range of poetic interests. Together, Jive Poetic and Mahogany Browne founded both “Jam On It Poetry” and The Soundbites Poetry Festival. Jive Poetic is the host of the Open Slam at the Nuyorican Poet’s Cafe. He performs on tours like this one and leads poetry and hip hop workshops in the New York City Public Schools and community centers.

Mahogany L. Browne is the slam host and curator of the Friday Night Slam Series at the Nuyorican Poet’s Cafe. She also edits a women’s anthology called “His Rib: Stories, Poems & Essays by HER.” She has released five LPs including the live album Sheroshima. She facilitates performance poetry and writing workshops throughout the country, focusing on women empowerment and youth mentoring. She is the publisher of Penmanship Books, a small press for performance artists and owns PoetCD.Com, an on-line marketing and distribution company for poets.
