NBL honors senior hoops players from LP, SL

SARANAC LAKE – Three Lake Placid players and one from Saranac Lake were named Northern Basketball League girls all-star selections after their outstanding seasons.

Blue Bombers Hanna Potter and Chloe Uebrick were selected to the Division II second team and Adele Jesmer was an honorable mention pick. Katie Buckley represented Saranac Lake as an honorable mention choice in Division I.

Potter averaged 4.9 points per game and also paced the Blue Bombers in three other categories. She was tops on the team in rebounds with 144 (65 offensive/79 defensive), blocks with 33, and assists with 42. Potter also had 32 steals.

Uebrick led the Blue Bombers in scoring with 124 points. She made 52 fields goals while averaging 7.3 points per game. Uebrick also grabbed 74 rebounds and had 30 steals.

Jesmer was Lake Placid’s outside threat, with 27 of her 37 fields goals made coming from 3-point range. She was fifth in the entire NBL in three-pointers made. She finished with 116 points and a 6.4 points per game scoring average.

Buckley was a force inside the paint for Saranac Lake. She recorded a team-high 104 rebounds in 16 games and shot 34 percent from the field.
