Harrietstown board names business park advisory committee
SARANAC LAKE – The Harrietstown Town Council has appointed a committee of citizens to help identify ways to grow its business park in Lake Clear.
At its meeting last week, the town board named a group of local residents and/or business owners to sit on the committee: Stacey Allot, Jeremy Evans, Steve Erman, Joe Garso, Dick George, Tim Hesseltine, Daniel Lundin, Chris LaBarge, Chris Leifheit and Steve Tyrell. Harrietstown Councilmen Ron Keough and Ed Goetz, who head up the town board’s Business Park Committee, will work with the citizens’ committee.
Town officials said in a press release that the decision to form the advisory committee dates to September 2013, when the Saranac Lake Area Chamber of Commerce board of directors toured the Adirondack Regional Airport.
Created more than 20 years ago, the business park has only two tenants: Bionique Testing Laboratories and the Adirondack Arc.
The chamber board then toured the business park and also received an update on a planned expansion of Bionique.
Volunteers from the chamber and local residents met with the town board March 19 to discuss the business park.
Hesseltine will serve as chairman of the business park citizens committee. An organizational and planning committee meeting is scheduled for early April.
