Local doctor becomes author

LAKE PLACID – It isn’t often that someone with a disabling disease is grateful for her illness, unless that someone happens to be Dr. Karen Kan.

Having been partially disabled from fibromyalgia and chronic fatigue syndrome, Dr. Kan has accumulated more than years of experience in healing herself and her patients using drug-free natural strategies.

She is no longer disabled and has since won multiple national Gold medals in adult figure skating.

Dr. Kan’s experience culminated in the publishing of her book, “Guide to Healing Chronic Pain -?A Holistic Approach,” which hit No. 1 on the Amazon bestseller list in six days and is now available worldwide in both eBook and hard copy formats.

Dr. Kan believes that every illness has a purpose, and that her own illness was just part of a Universal plan to prepare her for teaching others how to heal naturally.

Dr. Kan has an office in Lake Placid and specializes in treating patients with illnesses that don’t respond to conventional medicine.

Her book is available locally at her office as well as at The Bookstore Plus in Lake Placid and Moose Maple Books in Saranac Lake.
