Duprey recognized for advocacy on behalf of women and children

Assemblywoman Janet L. Duprey (R,I-Peru) was recently recognized by the nonprofit Hispanic Women’s Organization Entre Nosotras for her advocacy on behalf of women’s rights and children with special needs.

An award was presented to Duprey by Assemblywoman Carmen Arroyo (D-Bronx) at a luncheon in Albany at the 27th annual SOMOS conference held by the New York State Assembly/Senate Puerto Rican/Hispanic Task Force. Arroyo said Entre Nosotras was created to recognize the work and achievements of Hispanic women in the state. She said the Board of Directors of Entre Nosotras voted unanimously to honor Duprey for her many accomplishments on behalf of women and her tireless efforts as an education advocate, particularly in support of students with special needs.

“I am humbled to receive this honor from Entre Nosotras in recognition of my work for women’s rights and my personal passion for improving the lives of children with special needs,” Duprey said. “I’m grateful to the Hispanic community for this distinction, and I look forward to continuing to work on behalf of all New Yorkers.”
