Tupper teen faces drug charges

PLATTSBURGH – A teenager from Tupper Lake was arrested Saturday on multiple drug-related charges.

State police said in a news release that troopers in Plattsburgh responded to a report of two people smoking marijuana inside a car in the Pet Smart parking lot at 7:25 p.m.

Troopers located a 2004 Saturn Ion occupied by a 16-year-old male and an 18-year-old male, both from Tupper Lake. The 16 year old was allegedly found in possession of a marijuana cigarette and a bag containing approximately 3.6 grams of marihuana. He also had a Suboxone pill, police said.

The 16-year-old was charged with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, unlawful possession of marijuana and possession of a controlled substance outside of original container, a misdemeanor under state Public Health Law. He was issued appearance tickets for town of Plattsburgh court.

The other teen was not charged.
