Mark Emanatian and Soul Sky at Delta Blue

LAKE PLACID – Mark Emanatian and Soul Sky will perform Friday and Saturday night at Delta Blue.

Their performances will be held from 9 p.m. to midnight.

Soul Sky is a new, bluesy, jammy rock and roll band from New York’s Capital Region, formed in late 2012 with Blues Hall of Famer, Mark Emanatian, Jeremy Walz, Tom Dolan, and Josh Bloomfield.

It was formed out of the merger of two great Northeast bands that had had enjoyed years of success, Folding Sky, led by Mark, and Right Coast Soul, led by the dynamic Jeremy Walz. These two award winning guitarists, vocalists and songwriters are joined by the killer rhythm section of Josh Bloomfield on drums and Tom Dolan on bass. Together they form a band that combines great original material with unique versions of Classic Blues, Delta Blues, Chicago Blues, and an eclectic array of other rock and soul tunes.

Emanatian made his name playing for 11 years with Ernie Williams and the Wildcats. He has also performed with Patti Smith, Levon Helm, Buddy Guy, Bruce Willis and Hubert Sumlin. Dolan toured for years with Folding Sky, Tom Healey, Erin Harkes, and has backed up Big Time Sarah, Rhett Tyler and of course, Ernie Williams.

Walz, a judge at the annual International Blues Competition in Memphis, has toured with Tas Cru, Bo Diddley, Larry McCray and Big Eye Willie Smith. Josh Bloomfield has toured with Albert Cummings, Murali Coryall, The Slow Happy Boys, and Erin Harkes. Together they bring years of experience, an unparalleled passion for music, and a dueling guitar repertoire that has no peer.

In addition to playing concerts, clubs, festivals, and appearances on the Cooperstown Blues Express, they are known for their charitable work in raising money for homeless programs, food pantries, and veterans’ causes. Soul Sky is currently recording its first album of original material that is scheduled for a late summer release.

Delta Blue is located in Lake Placid at the Historic Northwoods Inn at 2520 Main St.

Delta Blue features live music on Wednesday night with its Open Mic Blues Jam, and on Friday and Saturday nights from 9 p.m. to midnight with an eclectic mix of regional blues artists and talented local musicians. For more information, call 518-523-1818 or visit
