Association helps people start medical careers
To the editor:
I would like to publicly thank the Saranac Lake Voluntary Health Association for their continued support of students from our area entering into the medical field, particularly nursing.
For the last two years I have studied at North Country Community College in the nursing program, and last night (May 15) I was pinned at a wonderful ceremony. It is through the generosity of many organizations that so many of my fellow classmates and I were able to afford to focus on our studies. The Saranac Lake Voluntary Health Association awards scholarships every year to students at North Country in either the nursing program or the radiology tech program. They recognize the importance of helping to attract highly motivated and qualified people into the medical field.
They are once again accepting applications for next year’s scholarships. I encourage people to apply for the scholarship, which is due June 1. Information can be found on the NCCC website.
Thank you again for helping me to achieve this next milestone in my life.
