ADK hosts Leave No Trace traveling team
LAKE?PLACID?-?The Adirondack Mountain Club (ADK) is hosting the Subaru/Leave No Trace Traveling Trainers for workshops and trailhead greetings on May 23-26.
Leave No Trace is a conservation movement that promotes sustainable outdoor recreational practices. The Subaru/Leave No Trace Traveling Trainers provide hands-on educational workshops and trainings across the country. They work with a wide range of audiences such as youth-serving organizations, college students, outdoor guides, rangers and more.
The team will conduct unique “Awareness Workshops.” A campfire talk will be held in the Adirondak Loj’s outdoor amphitheater at 8 p.m. on Friday, and a lecture will be at the High Peaks Information Center at 8 p.m. on Saturday. On Saturday and Sunday, the teams will greet outdoor enthusiasts at Mount Jo and other trailheads and talk with them about Leave No Trace and local environmental concerns. Free information about the organization will be handed out to visitors.
